89 North and its sister company, Chroma Technology, were honored to be among the top medium-sized businesses in this year’s “Best Places to Work in Vermont” ranking. This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Vermont, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses.
“We pride ourselves in having built a uniquely employee-led culture. The passion with which the employees participate in management and the way in which we engage in our communities are both core aspects of our culture. We’re happy to receive this award as a validation of these values,” said Julie Martin, Vice President of 89 North.
The award is presented by Vermont Business Magazine and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce and is further supported by the Society for Human Resource Management, Vermont State Council, (SHRM) and the Vermont Department of Commerce and Community Development.
The results are based on an extensive statewide survey conducted by Best Companies Group who also compiled the results. The survey probed many aspects of employer and employee relations, including benefits packages, corporate structure, philosophy, compensation, and commitment to community. The scores were analyzed to determine the top rankings, which are broken down into three categories: Small Businesses (15-99 employees), Medium Businesses (100-249 employees) and Large Businesses (250+ employees).
